Fabulous authentic Italian and magical staff.

We went to Asti on a recommendation for a great patio, friendly staff and authentic food--we weren't disappointed. Whatever you do, ask for Mark; his service and attentiveness made our evening. We felt like royalty.

Mark offered his recommendation on favorite entrees: lobster pasta and a prosciutto wrapped chicken (which we promptly ordered). It was a ten!! Fabulous homemade pesto and a hefty portion of seafood. Mark also gave us other wonderful recommendations for the remainder of our stay.

Highly recommend this romantic spot!

Food:

Juan was an excellent server. The salmon dish was superb - truly the best I've ever had, complemented by the perfectly chilled wine. The ambiance was wonderful: white linens, table positioned strategically outside to enjoy the lovely afternoon in the Gas Lamp District watching the sidewalk traffic before a fabulous show. I will definitely be returning!

Food:

I love a bonafied Caesar salad, I try them everywhere. After 40+ yrs of trying, Scomas in SF leads the pack but Asti, oh boy was it ever delicious and everything after (I had the veal) followed suit. Nice wine list, reasonable pricing for excellent food and stellar service, what a pleasant yummy surprise in the thick of the Gaslamp action. Hell yeah!

Food:

Impeccable service; nice ambiance--quieter than other restaurants on a Saturday night in the Gaslamp even with kids in there, nice background music; good vegetarian options--eggplant parmesan was delicious, especially the sauce; family friendly; wasn't rushed; delicious tiramisu. It was just a great evening and wonderful way to end our vacation.

Food:

Good: Nice Italian place, generous servings, nice location, food pretty good. Negative: staff didn't seem to work well together or work in a complimentary fashion, we sat outside and the bike carts tend to park in front a blare hip-hop tunes - nothing the restaurant can control, staff seemed spread a bit thin we got the sense that our server wanted to do a better job attending to us but colleagues and workload seemed to be working against him. We might come back for lunch, might be more a biz lunch type a place.
