08/27/2011 1:49 pmWe have been getting seafood from Atlantic Coast Seafood for years. We have NEVER had a problem. They have gone out of their way to be helpful, let me smell the product before buying, and get a good look. The store has always smelled and looked clean - which is hard to do in a small seafood store. I'm going to get blue crabs again today. It is no wonder it is so busy. I just don't see how anything could be bad, nothing will stay around long enough to smell. |

06/16/2011 11:35 pmI recently had a very bad experience here. I bought some shrimp and notice it smelled funny while starting to clean it at home. I know that fresh seafood is not suppose to smell bad, so I went back to let them know that I had a problem. I told the lady at the register, who had a bad attitude from the start, and she quickly said "oh no, it's all fresh". I even gave her the bag of shrimp and she had the nerve to pick a shrimp out of my bag and shove it right under my nose for me to smell. I really did not appreciate her getting so close to me with a smelly piece of seafood and then act like I was wrong for bringing it back. She did not offer at any point to give me a new bag of shrimp or refund my money, she was very inconsiderate. All she wanted to do was give me a store credit for the amount of money I spent, but I made her refund my money in full. She was also very rude to the other customers and even her own employees while I was in there. Altogether, I was very dissatisfied and will NEVER go there again. If you do decide to shop there, check your seafood before you leave to make sure it is fresh, don’t take their word for it. I recommend going somewhere at the beaches or in Mayport, you’ll get better seafood there. |

04/22/2011 1:55 pmI was first time customer and had a bad experience. I've got lots of fish and blue crabs from them. Blue crabs happened to be very bad with ammonia smell.... I called them up asking for a refund and they yelled at me that they will not give me a refund:(( I can Understand that the seafood can easily go bad (not if you take good care if it thought), but they should not yell at me, since I was polite and friendly. |
