this trendy little club off of burnside left me with nothing but a sour taste in my mouth. They have ridiculous cover prices for terrible top 40 playlist music and expensive drinks. The only cool thing about this place was the windows in the potties that you can watch people dance while you pee...odd...

Your average crowd pleasing trendy night club. They said it was $10 a person cover but I convinced them to lower it as we were a pretty large group. DJ wasn't impressive and overall clientele of the place was not my style.

I finally tried Aura and I actually had a great time! I'm generally not a club person, I stick to the bars, but every now and then you just want to get dressed up and go dancing. This is the perfect place for that. Of course I started drinking and took a cab there (because I'm smart) and paid the crazy $10 cover. As a lady, I'm not used to paying cover but since this is a classy establishment I'm okay with it. The cover generally keeps some of the riff-raff out. The inside of the club reminds me of something you'd see in Vegas. Portland clubs are generally trashy and always make me feel too sober, even if I'm definitely not. Aura had a classy modern look that I liked. It was sectioned off so well that you could go to one area and feel like you're in a chill lounge or go to the next room and get wild on a big open dance floor. Drink prices are a little much, but you're definitely paying for the atmosphere. I actually remember getting a strong drink which is rare for a club! I went with a group of girls and we had an awesome time. Usually I would have my head on a swivel looking out for creepers but I never felt worried here. Actually, one of my single friends was on the prowl and her options were pretty good! I like this place because it's nice, the people who go there were good fun people, and I got exactly what I came for. Next time I want to get all dressed up and go dancing, Aura is my spot!
