"Come hungry" to this "comfortable", "no-frills" branch of a California-based BBQ chain in University City, where you can "kick back" and savor "delish" ribs and other staples that you can "smell from the street"; friendly service and a convenient location with lots of "people-watching" help keep it crowded.

Got the Texas rib. Out of this world a little expensive. The service was great.

Sat down, waited 20 minutes to get menus, another 25 minutes for the server to come back. Got the entree, before the starters, and our initial order of drinks after we ate our meal. Food wasn't the greatest, had wings and ribs. The wings taste like fish oil, and the ribs had all the flavor taken out of it to the point that not even their sauce could fix it.

A bit off the beaten path, on a converted row home. Nice selection of meats on the menu. It is clean, well lit, and the staff provided good service.
I had the wings and they were good. The prices were a bit above average for the size of the serving.

Awful service, messed up order, took a long time to get food. Stale bun , poor Macknow sandwhich . I was so looking forward to this but it was a terrible let down !

When I saw the sliced brisket platter on the menu for ~$17. I thought it was going to be too much meat to eat in one sitting, so of course I ordered it because I was hungry as hell. I was sorely disappointed to see 3 anemic slivers of brisket buried under the sides when the meal arrived. Don't waste your time here. Head out to the Bridgeport Rib House. That's some real BBQ!

BTW, there's one of these Baby Blues in Venice Beach in Los Angeles. It's a spectacular place to eat. I was there for a week and I had to go twice (in a city full of great restaurants) because it was that good. It's too bad this one in Philly is nowhere near as good, not even in the same universe.
