My mother and father and 3 couples went there for dinner. Two of them got the same thing, prime rib special, and two of them got horrible food poisoning that night. They called the restaurant and spoke with the owner two days later and he arrogantly denied blame and refused to do anything about it. Not even an apology. To top it off, the food was over priced. There are hundreds of authentic Italian restaurants in the Rochester are so If I were you, I would STAY AWAY and pick somewhere else. Place is a joke.

Yorkshire Terrier National Rescue had our Annual Board Meeting and Awards Banquet at Bacco's September 22, 2012. Our volunteers and Board members flew in to Rochester from all over the country to attend this very special dinner. We were promised a table where we could sit together and a selection of choices from Giovanni's menu. What a great disappointment from the time we were seated until we left. The table that was provided left no space in between each chair for a person to even move, the table extended from one room into another room ending at the staircase to the men and women's restrooms. The people seated in the first room were directly in front of the air conditioner that blew directly onto the guests seated facing it. The guests in the second room had absolutely no air and it was stifling hot! The appetizers were served family style and the calamari was a frozen breaded soggy overly salted disaster. The salad was served without a hint of dressing on it, the entre's were substandard for what we were expecting from an authentic Italian cusine. The person's who ordered the Vodka ala Penne did not receive their entre until 7:30 and Giovanni's wife approached me and told me that we had to leave before 8:00. The desserts were served at 7:50 and at 7:55 Giovanni came out and told us we had to leave that they had other guests waiting for their tables at 8:00pm. At that point we still had not eaten our dessert or had our coffee nor had we received a bill for our dinners. Our guests waited outside on the sidewalk while I paid a $925.00+ bill. This restaurant is not able to handle a party of 18 people. Never in my life have I been treated so rudely or shoved out of a restaurant with such a greedy motive.

I had been told that this was the best Italian eatery in all of Rochester...and I was told the TRUTH! The warm bread that melts in your mouth, followed by the crisp fresh salad and the pasta...oh my goodness...the pasta...and the warm friendly service. This is all around goodness from beginning to end!

My only regret is not saving room for dessert...lesson learned. Next time, I will pace myself better so I don't miss once scrumptious morsel!

My wife and I have dinned here several times and never been disapointed. Appetizers, Carpaccio was excellent, gorgonzola polentaa appie was also great, entre's were prepared with love, sumptious, good service by Stephanie, attentive yet not intrusive.
