I have been to this restaurant before at a different location and I had a good experience however, I recently went to the Scottsdale, AZ location and I will NOT be back due to the service.
It started with the appetizer, they gave us a double order. No big deal, just take one back. After taking our dinner order the waitress asked if we wanted brown rice or white rice, we replied brown but she repeated back , "Okay...white rice". I heard the repeat back and said, "No, sorry. We would like brown rice please." She said she didn't know why she did that and it has been happening all day. When we got our dinner my wife's dinner was incorrect (some chicken dish) so we asked for the correct order which was Lemon Grass Scallops. She returned with Mandarin Orange Scallops! I couldn't believe one person could be wrong so many times in an hour period.

Not a good place to go with a large party, we arrived at 7pm ordered at 7:30 received our food at 8:30 or 9 I'm sorry we received half of our food the rest came 30 minutes later. We didn't leave until closing 11pm and some of the party still didn't get there entire order. First we was told they had only one shelf then we was told they only had two?? But i saw multiple people back there go figure

My wife and I went here during Restaurant Week in Phoenix, 2013.

It took us about 40 minutes before we got our appetizers after we ordered, so that was a bit long.

The food was decent, good quality, but definitely "American-ized" asian food. For appetizers, I had the chicken lettuce wraps which were good (and the most authentic tasting item of the night) and my wife had the fried calamari which were ok, but covered in a lot of sauce so that she couldn't really taste the calamari.

For our main courses I had the mandarin orange scallops, and she had the Hong Kong Style NY Strip. The scallops were cooked well, but had too much sauce again, and the steak was very good. They flambe the steak tableside for you.

So far so good right?

Well then came the desert course. It took them another 40 minutes to deliver our desert to us! By the time we got our desert we were already over 2 hours into our meal. At one point we thought they forgot about us as all the other tables had cleared out for the night. There was only us and two other tables left in the whole restaurant. You would think this desert was something custom made or very complex, but no, it was just a cream cheese cannoli with ice cream and some berries and ice cream. It was almost comical how long it took for us to get our final dish.

Summary: Food was decent but very American-ized, service was very slow. Would probably not go back again with all of the other choices nearby.

Having just moved from Boston to the Phoenix area, I have been exploring restaurants and heard about Bamboo Club from an acquaintance. As a frequenter of Boston's Chinatown as well as fine dining establishments throughout the city, I'd say the food is on par with a food court. A highly Americanized version of Asian cuisine, the food did not match the quality of a P.F. Chang's and was overpriced.

Just as we were finishing our meal, the waitress was rude to my mother, a senior citizen who rarely visits restaurants. It takes a lot for me to decrease a server's tip under 20%, let alone under 15%; however, this young woman's service warranted it - rarely have I witnessed treatment so insulting in my life. I felt terrible that my mother was treated so poorly on her vacation to visit me.

The ambience and decor attempted to come across as sophisticated, but did not mesh well. The music was out of place - a loungey remix of Madonna classics - and the decor had the feel of an amusement park to me. Granted I work in the architecture industry, studied interior design, and am used to dining in restaurants on the East Coast primarily, so my perspective on the expectations in the southwest may be skewed. However, those restaurants I've been to in the downtown Phoenix area are superb all around in terms of food, decor, and service - Bamboo Club couldn't hold a tiny birthday cake candle to them.

All around I would say this experience was among the worst I've ever had and I'd recommend trying someplace else.

This was the WORST experience we have had in the last 5 years. The owner/son would not let my 84 year old mother in law
ordere off the kids menu. This fudgie little AHole lost a $150.00 minimum tab because we simply cancelled our order and left. Our appetizer bill was $30 bucks and we were just getting started! The mom is probably nice but her "son" if you know what I mean needs his pantihose reajusted. We were there during the week and there were a lot of empty tables. Aren't most of the Bamboo Clubs going out of business? WAKE UP MORON. I eat out with 2 to 6 people a minimum of 2 times a week. YOU BLEW IT 1
