Horrible sloooow service. The manager used a curse word when I asked to leave.

Basil's is one of our favorite date night spots. It is like a hidden treasure, tucked off the beaten track in Buckhead. Not only is the 'neighborhood atmosphere' great, the food has always been delicious! My favorite dish is the Smoked Penne.

AVOID this place unless you want to pay to be insulted. We were the first party seated for Sunday brunch. Seemed disorganized, only one employee setting up the tables, etc, but we figured it's because the place just opened. ONE HOUR LATER, our food had not arrived. At this point there were three parties seated including us. Then the food for the third party came out before ours, even though we were clearly the first diners of the day. There was a manager there who clearly was aware of the problem and didn't apologize or acknowledge us in any way. It seems that treating us like second class citizens was the plan all along. Even with the wait my husband's entree was not ready and he had to wait while everyone else ate. Then they brought out the wrong item anyways. The waitress did the best she could but nothing can make it better when you're insulted repeatedly like that. Spend your time and hard earned money somewhere else. There's a reason why all the other restaurants on the street are always busy, but this place is always empty. Not sure how they stay in business as it seems all other reviewers had a similar experience.

I hosted six people here and everyone loved the food. I highly recommend the mushroom flatbread appetizers. The table ordered scallops, the fish special, filet mignon, and rack of lamb. Everyone was very happy. I'm sure the bottle of Brunello helped.

The restaurant is located in a converted residence. So it has a nice "homey" feeling. We were seated on the deck, and the weather could not have been nicer. That open air atmosphere under the trees really made the meal.
Our server was pleasant and efficient.
The food was very good overall. I think the mashed potatoes may have come from a box. But they were at least seasoned and tasted good.
The stuffed chicken breast was great. As was the lamb.

Overall I would say that the pricing was a bit too high. But the atmosphere really made up for it.
I would dine here again.
