Look no further and just go to this restaurant! Tonight we were deciding whether to go to a steakhouse in Cherry Creek or other restaurants in that area but opted to go here and we were pleasantly surprised! Retro style building with friendly staff, doesn't feel stuffy or snobby just great laid back atmosphere. Everything we tried was delicious even the Arnold Palmer is worth mentioning...yes there is really no science to an Arnold Palmer but theirs is the best I have tried!! The bacon wrapped scallops are delicious. Their Apple salad with gorgonzola dressing was amazing and the tomato bisque came with a twist of coconut and carrots! We had the New York strip with mushrooms and the Ribeye and everything was cooked to perfection. For dessert we had the Cherry pie skillet it looked questionable but ohh boy it was delicious we scrapped off every last bit off the skillet! Wait staff was very attentive thanks to Janine for helping us out and fun conversation!

I've been meaning to try this place for years and I'm so glad I finally did! It's an affordable alternative to the outrageous steak prices in the area of Cherry Creek. Your soup or salad and a side is included with your steak so you aren't ordering a-la cart.

Very retro establishment - you can imagine Frank Sinatra sitting at a table nearby. Our waiter was good - personable but not too bothersome. I asked what his favorite steak was but ended up ordering a different one so I plan to go back again!

Yes, the food is good. But forget the food. You're here for the building. Imagine if you can a complete restaurant operation in a structure on three levels, with a complete bar and lounge, complete kitchen, and dining on all three levels, contained in a circular form less than seventy feet in diameter, with a folded plate roof and a skylight at the center. I have eaten here about thirty times and it is the virtuoso architecture that is memorable more so than the very good food. Yes it is retro, but with ambition no other coffee shop can match. Come for the food, but linger to get your mind around this charmed timeless building with something ineffable at its center.

Really great family run place. Portions are large. Great value. There's nothing fancy about it. Just food done very well. My wife had a salad. It was enough for two. I had a sugar new York strip. It was full of flavor and cooked well. The stuffed musheooms are a must. Check thid place out.

Overall impression was that this place has seen better days and seems uninspired. We ate at 3:30pm when it opened for the evening, so it was almost empty. Waitress was very pleasant, and brought butter but no bread despite reminding herself aloud to do so. The steaks we had were the sugar-rubbed specialty 'de la maison' and the NY steak w/sauteed onions and cheese. They were only okay -- not as good as their price should warrant. We've recently had much better steaks at Friday's and Logan's Roadhouse - both of which are chains - at less cost. The grilled Caesar salad was not to our taste, as they actually singe the romaine lettuce chunk before adding creamy dressing and a balsamic reduction. It has a very smoky flavor and some of the lettuce is burnt/wilted. We're Caesar purists. The mashed potatoes were delicious but the vegetables served were lackluster overcooked green beans and purple cabbage. Music playing is very Rat Pack retro and the dark but glitzy atmosphere in a very neat round setting is unusual. But this was NOT worth the hefty price for the food we were served. A disappointing dinner overall. Also troubling was the view of the rear of the place from the parking lot. Very dirty and messy. That always makes me wonder about the state of the kitchen inside.

Famed for its "delicious", "thick-cut" sugar steaks (named for their sugar-based rub), this "time-honored" City Park American from 1937 offers "not prime, but tasty" cuts at a "great value"; the midcentury dining room evoking the "Rat Pack" "hasn't changed since it opened", but that plus "friendly" service make up most of the charm.
