How this place stays in business astounds me. Apparently the bathroom doors had been closed for awhile before our arrival because we did not notice a smell when we arrived. However, later when taking my children to the restroom, we entered the lobby and were assaulted by the smell of urine. The smell was emanating from the restrooms. The restrooms smelled horrible and were dirty. As anyone with any knowledge of the restaurant business will tell you. If an establishment has dirty restrooms, chances are, the kitchen is dirty too. We were seated promptly, and soon after our server came to the table. She was a very courteous young lady and performed the functions of her job adequately. The food? Abysmal, the "chefs" clearly have no idea how to prepare a tomato and basil bruschetta. it was horrible. I should have know the food would be bad when the plates were set down and the garnish was straight out of an 1980's diner. The cheese sticks were clearly of low end quality, as someone who has run restaurants before, you can order different qualities of frozen foods from a vendor, and The Bayview is definitely watching its budget. My wife had the portabello sandwich which was dry but edible, my steak was over done, I would have sent it back but seeing as how my meal had already come out after everybody else's at the table I was not about to wait for them to cook me a new steak. My son ordered the kids pasta, he wouldn't eat it, my wife tasted it and said it was horrible. the sauce was clearly a generic brand out of a jar/can. While the staff was nice, the food was extremely sub par. I don't recommend this place to anyone, to those of you who enjoy the place, you clearly have zero clue as to what good food is.

It is a family friendly place but thats about it. The food is sub-par, very little is fresh... not sure why I saw reviews raving about the New England Clam Chowder, I think people need to try some at other places, it was over seasoned, way to thin, and had perhaps 4-5 small morsels of clam in it. The crab cake is a deep fried ball of stuffing with something resembling crab meat in it. My wife had the crab/shrimp melt which was essentially a slop with a massive amount of onions and celery mixed with frozen salad shrimp and some crab meat piled with melted cheese and Old Bay seasoning... My kids had the chicken fingers and loved them, so at least theres that.

I didn't like the restaurant the first time I went so I decided to give it another try. Well this time it was a little better but not much. The soup was cold and I had to send it back. The service was slow. We waited and waited. They came out with the wrong things again. The first time I went to this place the scallops were burnt. When you have to keep sending food back time and time again because it is cold, burnt or something else I would rather not bother going. Someone else said the New England Clam chowder was to die for. Well I would say it was ok but I had better! When this restaurant was Mariners it was an awesome restaurant. People who want a restaurant to try should try Little Italy. The food is a mixture of Italian and American Food. It is in the Crest. Your food gets served hot and well prepared.

Wings were good but waited 1hr and 10 min and our dinner did not come out. Waitress said our food was given to someone else. Thats B.S. We were customers for years, this is not the first time we have had issues there. We have always gave the benefit of the doubt, not this time, enough was enough, we walked out! Will not go back again!!!!
I say this with regret because I used to genuinely like the place.
My family used to make it a monthly thing, not any more. Sorry not getting my business ever again!

Love the food!! The desserts are awesome... Service is excellent, the restaurant is right on the bay: so it's very beautiful when the sun sets...Also, in the front of the restaurant there is a small room that has cranes and arcade games... very fun for the kids (play to you win cranes) :D, also accommodates large groups.. all around excellent!
