12/23/2009 7:54 pmfood is good. I was not impressed with how they chose to price things at all. I mean if you care about how you spend your money. |

07/08/2009 7:48 pmWe went here for our anniversary and were terribly disappointed. The tuna in the tuna tartare wasn't very good quality, when you're going to eat raw fish, its best if the fish is really fresh, this definitely wasn't. Our entree was also tuna, the togarashi tuna, it was flavorless and chewy. It was so unenjoyable that we had to send it back. We also tried one of the creative rolls, that was tasty. The highlight of the meal was the chiffon chocolate cake, it was delicious, thank god ending the meal on a good note. |

10/07/2008 11:47 pmPast the cookie cutter Max and Ermas and P.F.Changs on Edwards Rd there is the Hyde Park area of Cincinnati. This trendy area boasts a few blocks of one-of-a-kind trendy wine bars, shops and downtown atmosphere. Belugas sits in an older building right on Edwards with convenient parking right behind their building and offers high quality sushi. It was empty on a Tuesday at 7:00pm which let them pay special attention to my party. I had the chefs choice sashimi which was melt in your mouth good. The cuts of fish were HUGE unlike the little trendy bites at other high-end sushi bars. The atmosphere was trendy, like a cross between Shabuya in MGM Grand in Las Vegas and a great sushi restaurant I stopped in San Jose, CA. It had a price closer to Shabuya so expect $50+ per person, but it was well worth it. Needs some new paint inside in the cabinets and such, but I was impressed with the quality of seafood so far away from any sea in this country. Kudos to the Japaneese food importers on keeping it fresh in Ohio. |
