Bender's, Denver, Colorado Restaurant Details

Went to open Mic night. CLosed out the rotation. I want to thank Bender's and their patrons for indulging my pants-down horrific tale of a drivers license physical. Fortunately, or not, i was pretty bombed at the time, and left out the really scarring visuals.. maybe next time... heh.... Great Pub. Awesome Rockabilly Blue Collar Friendly working mans pub. I'm just visiting from detroit, but eny time I return to denver, Benders is my new haunt.

Great spot to listen to music and get a little rowdy. Couldn't have asked for a nicer or more accomodating staff. Will definitely go back.

Awful service - there's a $20 credit card minimum, but they don't bother to tell you that until you've already ordered. Not going to this place again.

Went to Bender's this past Friday night thinking I would have a good time as I usually do there. The place was empty and some friends and I came in to play some pool and have a few drinks. When a friend of mine went to close his tab, he was denied a couple of drinks and made some remarks that were admitadly not necessary, but did not warrant what happened to him shortly after. He was tackled by the bouncer on duty, having done nothing that threatened anyone in the establishment. He was hit in the face several times and then taken via choke hold by one of the employees toward the bar's exit. The same bouncer then punched him in the face while he had his arms held behind his back, making him fall to the ground. On his own accord he left the tavern seeking no revenge for the bullshit that had just happened to him and asking myself and others around him not to retaliate for the callous act that had occured. Thank you Benders for showing your true colors and affirming that your management is not fit to hire a staff that can be professional and handle situations intelligently and reasonably.

I usually go into a bar to relax and forget about my troubles. But this place was probably the worst place to go for that. The bartender kept leaving the bar to do lord knows what and then the bar owners came out and started yelling and screaming at the people providing the entertainment for the evening. It's not really my business what they were arguing about and thats why i'd rather not be bothered with it. Both of the bar owners were exremely drunk and possibly on something from the way they were acting, is this a requirement for being a bar owner? Needless to say I was a bit turned off by their "Professional" behavior. I won't be frequenting this bar any time soon. There are plenty of other dives in denver that I can go to.
