One of my favorite places in Boston. With all the trendy BS places, this is one of the best spots to grab a beer, knock back a shot and relax. Not pretentious nor would that be allowed! Hard to say that about spots in the financial district.

Oh Biddy Early's - a steadfast, small dive that has been an institution with the Financial set, as well as a hearty group of locals who side up to the bar for a quick beer. The prices are cheap (and with the right bartender, tend to have a heavy pour). It is a great place for happy hour - or the odd day drinking/bar crawl type of day where you prefer not to be judged.

Dive bar with ok service. Many other great bars in the area that are better.

Went for dinner and then drinks with friends.
The food was ok--nothing special, but at least it was cheap. The portions were small enough that my boyfriend had to order two meals.
I ordered a cocktail off of their menu and was disappointed to find it tasted like water (it was supposed to include whiskey), so I switched to beer.
It's quite a dive--the decor is strange, it attracts a highly-varied crowd (including a couple who brought their infant), and it's lively and cheap.
The best part was the music. You can pay to play a song, so it makes for an interesting mix.
