05/25/2015 9:57 am![]() This delightful Northport bistro takes American standards for a spin in a cozy 1850s space showing off original woodwork and a marble bar, while attentive, efficient servers deliver the well-prepared goods; a nightly, early prix fixe makes it perfect for pre-theater dining, and courtyard tables are an especially beautiful warm-weather bonus. |

05/10/2015 9:28 am![]() We experienced this establishment on a Monday night. The good: The food taste was outstanding. The chef seemed well qualified for any high end NYC restaurant. Substitutions on side orders was no problem. The not-so-good: The waiting staff was not familiar with the menu or how food was prepared. We had a lamb dish that was good, but had very small portions. When we first entered the restaurant and could not find anyone to seat us. After walking through the dining area several times, we were finally approached by a waitress. The lack of attention to the customer was a major minus in the overall rating. |

04/24/2015 12:01 pm![]() Came with a friend on a Friday night before the theater. We both had the Baby Greens salad and while it was very good, was much too much food. Could've served 3 or 4 people. For the main course I had the Marinated Skirt Steak. This can be a difficult cut to carry off, but Bistro 44 did an excellent job. It tasted delicious, was cooked to perfection and was tender. My friend had the Ahi Tuna and also liked it very much. |

03/09/2015 9:25 pm![]() I was there recently and came across someone who knows about the restaurant and they told me that the lobster in the lobster ravioli was not real lobster! That it is actually imitation lobster! I am very upset that I paid nearly 30 dollars for this dish that simply had five small raviolis with this lobster meat on top, correction, imitation lobster meat! I was wondering why it was meaty and not sweet like lobster should be. I warn those who go there, not to order the lobster ravioli, and who knows what else goes on there. Won't be returning, buyer beware. |

01/05/2015 9:16 pm![]() This restaurant is fabulous. It is quaint, old and beautiful with lots of character...very romantic. It used to be an old tavern and it is set in a seaside town..really a magical place. Recently there has been change in ownership, and now it is perfect....Character, ambiance and delicious food...not to mention quite attentive service. Northport has won the lottery. Thank you Bistro for bringing all of this to the locals of Northport. This is a friendly place where you can dress up or down. My family and I had dinner here tonight and everything was delicious. I highly reccomend the fresh tuna and the fried calamari...The fresh lobster and spinach ravioli were incredible with large chunks of fresh lobster meat. My husband had the ribeye and I had the salmon...both so wonderful, We love the Bistro 44!!!!! Also I would like to mention that our server this time, Jesse and the last time, Gina were so attentive...much appreciated. This place has got everything right!!!!!!! |
