Quiet place to have a drink pre or post E Street Cinema.

We went to the restaurant with our two kids. An Asian women with yellow hair that stood behind the counter most of the time asked us to leave because our baby made some noise. Our baby made some complaining sounds because of hunger and thirst but was not loud -- even the waiter told us that our baby was fine.
This restaurant was unbelievable rude and inconsiderate. For making some more money, it didn't care that its customers were hungry and tired and our baby needed food to rest. It just asked us to leave in the rain immediately.
Do you have a child/children? What would you think of such an inhumane restaurant?

Great location next to Ford's Theater. Excellent service and delicious food. The Cassoulet and Seafood Risotto are the best i've ever had

I came here for a brunch originally but decided to eat elsewhere -- so please take this review with a grain of salt as I can not comment on their food. But my reasons will explain why I left.

After noticing DCist gave Bistro d'Oc high marks for its French Onion soup I was stoked to go here -- but I quickly found myself questioning why I was there.

The entire place was empty which is never a good sign. Furthermore there was no Brunch Menu so that kinda sucked. Finally the waiter did not speak english very well and was having trouble understanding our orders. We were willing to let it go but our waiter kept not understanding us: for example we asked for seltzer and he was confused until we clarified soda water -- and then when we asked for a bloody mary he had to go back and ask the manager what it was.

We quickly collected ourselves and went elsewhere (although we felt bad and over-tipped for our drinks). This location needs to work on its staff as we were not willing to battle the wait staff for every request.

I will come back here to try out their french onion some time -- but I can not recommend this place for brunch.

I love this place. It is excellent and consistent. I have been several times now and always had a great meal.

Though not cheap, the place is actually a bargain - the food for this price is much better than most places of similar pricing.

Sophisticated, yet basic. Not pretentious but it does have some flare. Just fresh, quality French fare, done with attention to detail.

I wish I could give it 4.5 stars, but Google only allows either 4 or 5.

Chef-owner Bernard Grenier rolls out tasty classic Languedoc dishes, plus a huge selection of chalkboard specials, at this well-priced, nicely French spot with a handy Penn Quarter location opposite Ford's Theatre; service may be perfunctory, but at least you can have a conversation in its homey rooms.
