12/30/2015 12:10 amCame here cuz my bf lived going here growing up. We both ate like we weren't condemned with our health at all! I ordered the chicken fried steak with the gravy on the side with green beans and fried corn for my sides. He got the chicken fried chicken with broccoli rice mashed potatoes for his sides. The chicken fried chicken was far better seasoned than the chicken fried steak. The bread served at the beginning was so yum. Reminded me of baked bbq pork buns at dim sum places |

03/27/2015 8:21 pmThis Black-eyed Pea is very special for me & my husband of 11 years. The food, drinks & the service of the staff is so great that we make sure to go back on the anniversary of our engagement to be married every year since September 7th 1999. But we still go out to eat there often to enjoy their great food, drinks & service. Thank you Black-eyed Pea for all the sweet memories! |

08/17/2014 11:29 amI used to like this place. The staff is very nice, but the food is not. Its greasy, fatty, cheesy deep fried garbage. I got ingestion on what ate there last night. How do they make a bad BLT? They found a way. The fried green tomato were nothing but gristle. The "bacon" looked more like bacon bits (I couldn't see anything that looked like real bacon strips). I'd rather have fast food or eat at a gas station. I never plan on going back here. One star because zero is not an option. |

12/24/2012 8:55 pmService, esp at bar is top-notch. Food is very good, but sometimes inconsistent, but never bad. Great neighborhood vibe, original BEP location. Peach tea, peach cobbler excellent and SW fried chicken wrap is my fave. |
