This is my favorite restaurant in Durham. They do tex-mex well, but you are missing out if you don't go for the Latin-style plantain dishes. The house-made chipotle and habanero salsas are excellent as well. And don't miss their $2 happy hour tacos every weekday – best deal on 9th Street.

This restaurant had a great atmosphere and good service. The salsa and guacamole were delicious, but then again I love most any salsa and guacamole! A menu with a few smaller options would have been good - reduced portions and reduced prices. Otherwise, it was well worth the dining experience!

My first time eating at blue corn cafe was wednesday night. A few coworkers and myself went there to celebrate one of our staff members moving on to a new practice. At first it seemed well, the prices on pitchers were very expensive but the sangria was very good, appetizer (chips and queso) was good as well. I ordered the chicken quesadilla, I thought it tasted funny so I really didnt eat much, three other coworkers ordered the same thing as I did. Service was so-so, over all wasnt to bad of an experience until I woke up at 2:30am vomiting. Come to find out the other 3 staff members that had ordered the same as me all agreed the food tasted weird and all got sick after leaving the restaurant. I threw up everything I had in my system and had to miss work the next day. So i would say just be careful what you eat there, and DONT GET THE QUESADILLA!

Blue Corn Cafe is fresh, inspired, delicious food and you can't go wrong with anything here. The owners are amazing and put their all into making everyone feel warm and welcomed. Blue Corn host wine and beer dinners that are a must. Having been to one of each I would recommend these for couples looking to meet new people and socialize over good drinks and food.

blue corn is a wonderful local restaurant for non-mexican mexican food. everything tastes fresh, the choices are wonderful, and the intimacy of this little place is relaxing and fun.
