The "solid" if "basic" pub fare "goes down easy" with the "hearty", housemade craft beer at this "reliable" tavern family ranked the Most Popular chain in Portland and owned by the McMenamin brothers, who specialize in restoring notable buildings and decking them out with "eclectic" furnishings and colorful murals; opinions on service run the gamut ("swell" to "slow"), but many agree that the environs are "mellow" and the inexpensive menu offers "something for everyone."

Abysmal service! 30 min to be acknowledged; this was only after we went up to the bar to order, 40 min to get a drink after ordering it (the food came before the drink) and a snotty
attitude to boot. I have received better service at plaid pantry. My shadow will never darken thier doorway ever again.

This bar definitely attracts a younger, singles-oriented crowd, probably because it's open so late and has table shuffleboard and pool. It's a nice space, especially if it's late and you want to grab a cheap pint and some pretty good happy hour food.

Love coming here during the winter to sit by the fire and have a drink. Everytime I ate food here I left thinking I wish I had nothing at all to eat than that. Even things that shouldn't be messes up like Cajun tots or fries are so oily its hard to keep them down. It's tempting when you go and its late night happy hour, but you go there for late night drinks by the fire and maybe pool.

Its a very typical McMenamins, which means if you like their other places, you're very likely to enjoy Blue Moon as well. Good place for casual drinks or dinner.
