It's hard to find good Thai food in Nebraska, where you get the spiciness you actually ask for. The service at blue orchid has always been lacking, but the food is excellent.

My favorite restaurant in Lincoln. Consistently delicious.

We didn't have a reservation, but they seated us (3) for dinner on a Friday. The food was good. Will return

Really good Thai food. A bit tricky to find.
Surprisingly good Thai food and a full bar.
It's on the side of a building rather than facing the street so if you put the address in your GPS, you'll drive right by.

Atmosphere itself was pretty and nice. However the staff was not on top of their game. We decided to sit outside on the patio since it was a beautiful day and it wasn't busy at all. Our waitress came out a total of about 5 or 6 times. First to greet us and pour us some water, second to take our order, third to bring out our food, and fourth to bring our check. We waited about an hour until our food came out and by then our glasses of water were empty and we had to wait another 10 minutes for a refill. Not very good service for such a beautiful atmosphere.

Now to the food...

This place does not serve actual authentic Thai food. The pad see ew was so salty with the amount of soy sauce and the noodles were definitely under cooked. I have had real Thai food and this tasted nothing like it. My boyfriend had the pad thai and it had so many peanuts that it seemed like they were practically trying to mask the entire dish with peanut flavor. The noodles for the pad thai too were under cooked. The only good dish we had was the chicken satay. Very delicious and moist and the peanut sauce that came with it was good also.

I will most likely never come here again. I would much rather drive the extra 45 minutes to Omaha to have actual authentic GOOD Thai food.
