Cool decor and vibe, as well as friendly and attentive service typical of any Danny Meyer place. However, there are better options in the city for more authentic bbq. Pork shoulder was pretty tender, but the ribs were dry and the mac and cheese was creamy, but not very flavorful.

I have never had such good service in my life. The staff were friendly and pleasant but without being all syrupy sweet and in your face constantly. They were attentive and I honestly can not fault them at all. Now for the food... Absolutely gorgeous. We had been looking for a place to get good ribs and we were not disappointed. We had a rack of Kansas City ribs and the sample platter. I wasn't too thrilled by the chicken but the pulled pork and sausage were really nice. The spicy cheese fries were delicious but the sweet potato wedges were the best I've ever had. I'd have gone there just for them. All up for three of us with drinks, tax and tip we paid around $140 and all three of us could barely move we were so full. We definitely over ordered but it was delicious so who cares. I would definitely go again and recommend it.

Visited this restaurant during one of many NYC restaurant weeks and enjoyed pretty much everything I tried. However, I was shocked at how crowded this place was for a Tuesday night and glad that I had made reservations!
For my meal I had the chipotle wings as an appetizer, KC spare ribs and apple crisp al a mode for dessert. The wings were served buffalo style with blue cheese dip and were pretty good. The ribs were a smoked type instead of the grilled type of rib I am used to typically. They were very meaty, moist and well seasoned but the sesame slaw side was not very good in my opinion...yuck! The dessert was also very good as well. My friend had the smoked sausage appetizer which was delicious and moist like the ribs.
My experience at this restaurant was overall a pleasant one and I found the staff to be helpful as well as friendly.

Food:
- Corn Bread Madelines - delicious - very moist and hot, not crisp though; came with a yummy maple butter sauce for dipping
- Collard Greens - pretty good - greens cooked very thoroughly with large chunks of pork and a bit of a vinegar flavor
- Mac and Cheese - very cheesey, like Velveeta; light ovened in a cast iron pan
- Rhapsody in 'Cue - 2 ribs, 1/4 chicken, half sausage, pulled pork - liked the ribs and chicken the best - chicken was moist with a nice smokey and char flavor, ribs tender; the pulled pork was a bit too vinegary to me; sausage was okay

The above was a very good amount of filling food for 2 people

Service:
- good

Ambiance:
- Sit down BBQ, no waiting in lines

Nice casual place that transports you to the South. Food was really good, of course all Southern style and on the heavy side, but who doesn't love that. It was a casual place, nothing fancy so very comfortable. I loved their Bourbon Splash cocktail, I could have those every day. I had really good, Fried Chicken was delicious but make sure you go hungry as portions are big. If in the mood for some Southern love you have to check this place out.
