They really reamed people for Valentine's Day. A $60 a person prefix dinner where the appetizer, entree and dessert choices, along with their seemingly smaller portions averaged about $40-$48 off the regular menu. Then when you sit down, they have the gall to push drink specials inferring it is part of the Valentine's Day menu. "Tonight we have the Valentine's Day prefix menu and are offering drinks. A makers mark mix for the men and a chocolate martini for the women." Which by the way tasted horrible and turned out to be $10 each for this swill. Looking around, they apparently suckered almost everyone into getting it. Now on to the meal.

The appetizers were very good, I'll give them that. I had the stuffed mini Portobello mushrooms and my girlfriend had the chicken dumplings. The entree on the other hand, very different experience.

My girlfriend got the half lobster. It was apparently stuffed with crabmeat. Didn't see or taste that. The calamari were chewy and had a fishy taste. The 3 shrimp were good. As well as the bite of lobster meat since it is half a tail after all.

I got the veal cutlets in a lemon butter sauce. 3 of them, about the size of a post-it note, smothered in lemon juice. There was almost no other taste besides the lemon juice. Someone forgot to add some butter. It came with a side of broccoli rabe and hot cherry peppers. There was no other taste besides the pepper. Unbelievably overpowering. Me and my girlfriend used the horrible mixed drinks to get rid of the taste of pepper. Then water to get rid of the taste of the drink.

As for the dessert, the cheesecake was very rich. Probably the best part of the meal. It was a shocking uplift after the low expectations generated by the entrees. The bill brought me back to reality so no worry there.

Suffice to say, not a good first impression. Definitely won't be back.

Visited Blue for the 1st time this past Saturday night. Hadn't been to the location since it was R.H Tugs a few years ago. The new design for the bar area that you walk into when you enter is very nice. Had about a 20 minute wait and then seated along the windowed wall looking out at the waterway b/w SI & NJ. Beautiful view even though across the water is industrial NJ.

Seafood Salad was our 1st & only appetizer. It was excellent, no skimping on the amount of fish in the salad and easily was good opener for 2 people. Our dinners were the Seafood Pot and the Lamb shank. Both were fantastic, neither better than the other. Once again the seafood pot had more than enough seafood in it and the Lamb shank was cooked & spiced to perfection. By the end of dinner we were both fully stuffed and glad we hadn't ordered a 2nd appetizer or else we definitely wouldn't have been able to finish most of our dinner. Topped off the meal with a delicious cup of cappucinno. Our waitress was a sweetheart, there when we needed her with a pleasant & helpful demeanor.

The room is a wee bit loud when everybody starts fully conversing so if looking for total quiet place then may not be right pick. But besides that this place was a great experience in all areas, food, service & vibe. Will gladly go there again. Take care...

Three lunches here were all good. Tasty food, well prepared; sturdy cocktails; friendly attentive service and visually interesting views of the marine traffic on the waterway. It all makes for delicious afternoons.

Horrible! We call they don't take reservations so we ask wait time and they say 20 to 30 min. We get there within 20 minutes and there was two tables filled and they said kitchen was closed. They were dumb rude and at 830 on a weekend close the kitchen.
