Bonefish Grill, Raleigh, North Carolina Restaurant Details

Food:

I cashed in a bunch of rewards points, so we were able to go twice in one week. We should have learned from the first experience, and taken the remaining gift card balance to Outback or one of their other sister restaurants.

Trip # 1 - the food was very good, but the service was very slow and unresponsive. We thought our screaming 1.5 year old might help expedite getting someone to the table to take our order, bring some bread - but I still had to flag down another waiter after we went probably 10 minutes without seeing ours. The delays in seeing our waiter, getting our food out promptly continued throughout the entire meal. Again - not a great recipe when trying to keep 2 little kids happy at lunchtime.

Trip # 2 - we do enjoy the food at Bonefish, so we thought we'd try it again, this time sans kids. Same experience with the wait staff. It actually took much longer, and our waitress did stop by 2 or 3 times (over 15-20 minutes) to tell us our food would be up any minute. The food didn't seem to taste as good - probably due to the frustration of the waiting time, and also due to the oversaturation of the sauce that I asked for on the side.

I see similar comments by others regarding the service level at this location. Perhaps we'll try one of the other locations in the Triangle area next time. It is unfortunate, because as I mentioned earlier - we've always loved the food at Bonefish, and I don't remember these service issues in the past.

Food:

I'm sitting here now... and I have never felt so appalled and disrespect in my whole life... I'm a minority and me and a good friend came here to eat.. we been sitting here for a good twenty or so minutes... and our order still wasn't taking. people of non color sits down and they where basically ran two and cater to like they were of royal blood. we did manage to get an appetizer in. now ask me why all this time we have been sitting here waiting for it. one of the other tables order the same appetizer and there's come out not even 5 mins later. said something to the waitress and she said let me go check. and she goes oh it should be coming soon. I looked her and said that don't answer the question of why they got theirs before us and we have been here longer and waiting.

Food:

There is always a wait here if you visit during lunch or dinner hours. When your food arrives, you will understand why! Good food sometimes comes with a wait. We dined outside at the community tables yesterday, and our server was Adam. He was awesome. He had many tables to serve, but was very attentive to the needs of all of us. The food was simply perfect. No other way to say it. We will definitely be back.

Food:

I went specifically for the Tuesday night lobster special - STEAK TOPPED WITH LOBSTER THERMIDOR $17.9. I ordered it medium with a little pink. As the bartender put in the order I asked to switch from mashed potatoes to coucous, which he replied no problem.

About 6 minutes later I received my salad so the meal had not been prepared yet. When the dinner came it was a filet not the sirloin that I ordered. So I was up charged for the filet that was rare and also charged for the coucous because he never cancelled the mashed potatoes just added on. I was also charged for the salad.

I like to eat out a few times during the week to relax after a demanding day at work and to try to catch up on emails. I won't be return to Bonefish for a server to try to up my check for a bigger tip.

Food:

Make reservations if you are going for dinner. The bang bang shrimp is by far the most popular and delicious appetizer. This location offers outdoor seating. I am extremely picky about seafood and prefer it from the ocean and never frozen but this is the next best thing for ye land lovers. I am always full of salad, bread, and bang bang shrimp by the time the meal arrives so maybe I need to consider that next time I go. Some meals have very small portions so be sure to ask your waiter or waitress about that if you're hungry; an example of this is the crab cakes that arrive looking like 2 little golf balls.
