07/12/2009 9:49 pmLess than half full on a balmy saturday evening should have been a signal, but our guests were already there. A slightly pompous waiter added to the 'oh my this is not good' feeling. Starters were uneventful with the smoked salmon almost invisible but it was the Chateaubriand with Hollandaise sauce which confirmed our worst fears. It turned out to be fillet steak with a brown gravy on the side. But company was more important than the meal so complaints were not made. Beware the over-priced impersonator. |

06/23/2008 12:28 amI had the chicken and frites, which were fantastic. Frites (fries) were a little overly crispy, but still good. The atmosphere can't really be beat on Newbury Street. I ate on the patio. |

08/13/2007 9:55 pmI went there on sunday for a late lunch While we were seated very promptly, our waiter arrived promptly, the food was very disappointing. For a French restaurant that has pommes frites in over 60% of their menu, you would expect them to be spectacular. They were slightly burnt, yet soggy at the same time and ridiculously salty. Half of the mussels in my entree were still closed, and the sauce was just water and oil and soggy water logged tomatoes. The person I was with ordered the steak sandwich which was excellent, but the macaroni on the side was completely bland. I feel like the staff just weren't trying with this one, perhaps they were too hungover from the night before? |
