We had reservations for 7PM, we were seated and ordered drinks, 20 minutes later we ordered dinner. There were 6 of us, we waited till 8:30 for our food and even then it didn't come all together, there was a 5 minute or more gap between the first 3 meals and the second 3 meals. During our wait we had to ask for bread 3 different times before we got some. The wait staff were very nice , when they finally noticed something was amiss they brought us an appetizer -- tuna, nice presentation but way way over salted. When all our meals finally came the roast chicken was over salted, the lamb was over salted, and not just by a little bit -- this was uneatable we had to send it back. Nice people but for a $200 dinner it was not even close. I really doubt if I would ever go back.

My husband and I went to Brasa tonight to celebrate our seventh wedding anniversary and we had a really nice dining experience. The wait staff was attentive and helpful, the portions were generous and the prices reasonable, and the dishes that we ordered were simply amazing. For appetizers we had the beet salad (diced golden beets with a red beet sauce, served with a slice of poached Bosc pear, goat cheese, and arugula salad lightly dressed with a vinaigrette and garnished with thin slices of sunchoke, a potato crisp and Spanish Marcona almonds) and the crostini (proscuitto and marinated red peppers on freshly grilled ciabatta bread). For the main course, my husband had the beef short ribs and couscous which were divine, and I had the traditional paella (clams, mussels, homemade chorizo, grilled chicken and squid served on plump bomba rice heavy with juice, spices and tomatoes) which was delicious. For dessert we had churros with Valrhona chocolate sauce and whipped cream on the side for dipping and the house coffee. I can't say enough good things about the dishes that we ordered. We left the restaurant happy and satiated, which rarely happens to us when we dine out in Seattle. It was a nice change from what we are used to, and we definitely plan on going back.

Went to Brasa last night for a girfriends dinner and while the place was not full at all, we were ushered up to the rafters where no one else was seated. Our server was good but the food was horrible. Our appetizer, Hummus and Pita was dry and flavorless, basically chick-pea paste. The Beef Filet was tough and had no flavor, Kale was more like a garnish (no flavor) , on the plate the only item that had any redeming qualities was the aioli (for the french fries). Three of us ordered this dish and each of us a different sized portion. The organic greens were just that, a plate of greens... throw in a cherry tomato or some frise. The duck fat brussel sprouts tasted like a Christmas dish. We went through 2 ramekins of salt. Maybe we ordered a dish that wasn't their specialty, but if they aren't going to take pride in presentation, flavor, texture... whatever, take it off the menu. I would return to enjoy their bar area, very nice ambience there and cocktails are tasty and creative.

I totally enjoyed dinner at Brasa, as did my wife. But in the end the food was nothing special. It was good - nothing terrible. But nothing I'd rave about, either.

The service was excellent, though. Probably a good place for a business dinner - you won't end up disappointing anyone.
