"Traditional French favorites" share menu space with American offerings at this "beautiful" Downtown brasserie with an "easy, relaxed atmosphere", "interesting wine list" and "knowledgeable" staff; other pluses include frequent live music, a "great happy hour" and "good nightlife crowd."

So many, many great memories from the 80's & Virginia Cafe up the street. Dang I am going to Portland in June I was thinking of stopping by. I have even celebrated many birthdays there!

Wonderful place to go when your looking for a formal restaurant. Lovely entertainment and food, staff is very nice and helpful. Definitely a restaurant for date night.

The service was definitely lacking! We waited about 40 minutes for our appetizers with our waiter checking in on us maybe once during that wait. We almost walked out until he brought our appetizers, which were underwhelming to say the least! The escargot didn't have much flavor despite being in a butter sauce. & Although the frog legs were good, there were only 3! The main meal was worse. We got the black cod, which had big bones, lacked taste, and was small...this on top of "beans" that weren't too appealing to the taste buds was the third strike.

At least the waiter gave us our appetizers on the house for such a long wait, but it didn't make up for us walking out of there still hungry!!

Love the atmosphere. Love the live music they have so regularly. And the Macaroni and Cheese is to DIE for. I could eat that all day. There's a great Happy Hour menu, and the wait staff is fantastic. Love the bar menu. Delicious cocktails. Overall I just love this place.

My wife and I went there for lunch and ordered the scallops, chicken and andouille sausage risotto, and mixed green salad. We enjoyed everything. The salad dressing was light and perfectly seasoned. The scallops were nicely seared and not too salty. The risotto was a good size and very tasty. For dessert, I ordered an espresso and brownie sundae. The espresso seemed like a double it was so big, and the brownie was rich and chocolatey, topped with anise ice cream.

The service was very professional and friendly, but it took a while to get our food.

The decor is unique and fun to look at.
