05/14/2015 1:57 pm"Hobnob with the NBC crowd" and others "happily expensing their meals" at Laurent Tourondel's "heart-of-Rock-Center" brasserie providing a "sumptuous art deco" setting for "good" (if "not spectacular") French cooking; the "fascinating people-watching" from its "amazing" patio supplies added "fun." |

05/15/2014 11:14 amLocation is really everything. My croque monsieur was very cheesy and tasty, but way too heavy. It's american-french gourmet of a decent quality, but they lean heavily on french fries and there is nothing artisenal about it. Great for a business lunch, but I wouldn't go here on personal time. |

01/02/2014 1:35 pmWait staff pretty good . Too many of them though hustling and bustling around. We were there for a late afternoon lunch. Food is High priced as we expected since its New York but not too die for. My husbands meal was ordinary, my fish was pretty good.. Since the photos online looked more romantic ( we were celebrating our anniversary) it was a little more business like than we expected. The bathrooms were definitely not clean . |

12/12/2011 12:01 amDuring daylight hours Brasserie Ruhlmann is as busily bustling as the corner of chaos it lies in. Arrive post theater hours and things settle down a bit to a much more attractive civilized buzz. Prices are high but so are the aspirations of the menu. Tuna tartare in a yuzu soy sauce with avocado and microgreens is a perfect beginning to prepare you for the heartier fare that dominates the rest of the menu. Halibut in a sausage and bean-filled sauce begs to be sopped up by the warm and crunchy loaves of bread that just never seem to be brought to your table quickly enough. A chicken paillard pounded paper thin and topped with a parmesan-laced frisee salad is the way to go if you're craving a lighter meal before a long night of Christmas tree-gazing. |
