Go elsewhere! The services was very friendly and attentive... the only positive. The food was awful, I mean really awful. I have eaten at Bravos in Metairie several time and it is always pretty good, but not so for the one in Baton Rouge. The pasta was very overcooked and mushy. The sauce was bland and tasteless. After not eating any of the entrées, my party decided to get some coffee and dessert. The coffee was pretty good. We ordered the cheesecake to share. We figured the desserts were pre-made so how bad could it me. It was bad. Really bad. The cheesecake was stale and freezer-burned. I usually only write positive reviews for restaurants, but I felt that people need to be warned. Beware of Bravo less you go hungry.

Bravo has to be one of the worst choices in Baton Rouge. More often than not, when I go there they are usually out of one of the things I order. Now, I don't know exactly what it takes to run a successful Italian restaurant, but I would assume that you would have to have plenty of pasta. Nope, not Bravo. They were out of ALL pastas except rigatoni when I went one night. They've also run out of things like bread, cheesecake, tomatoes, etc. That's maybe a little bit more acceptable. Often, I'll have found myself ordering something, and maybe the order was put in wrong by the waiter, but I will not be given the correct order. The prices are highly ridiculous compared to BJ's right next door who have even bigger portions of better food. I often see the Bravo waiters and waitresses eating there instead of in their own restaurant. Funny. You get a discount at your restaurant but still prefer somewhere else? That must mean it's awful. My least favorite thing about my experience was the waitress behind the bar. She often has unprofessional, inappropriate hairstyles for work, and gives off a bad vibe. it made the overall atmosphere awkward, and unwelcoming. I work in the mall so I have given Bravo more than one chance, and it has failed me every time.

Just go to BJ's. When you compare what you are getting at Bj's for the money and what you get at Bravo's it gets very ridiculous. The food is ok, but it's just that price point. Just walk across the fountain and get yourself a good beer and some good food next door.

Most Italian places basically dump red sauce on everything except Alfredo and only really offer pasta dishes. As I'm not a huge pasta eater and I really dislike tomatoes this has led me to generally avoid Italian places. However, I've been to Bravo a few times and have always had a really good meal. One time we went and the service was a bit slow, but my girlfriend and I were busy talking and really didn't even notice. Still, the manager insisted on giving us a free dessert, which was nice. The fried eggplant was delicious, too. In all, it is pretty good for a chain.
