I stopped by just to try something small...and holy nola...A Plain Croissant was so crispy and soft to my tongue at the same time. Best $3 spent in a long time!

Amazing vegan selection. Organic, fair trade coffees. Best sandwiches and pastries. Organic flours. Cheap!!!

It is cute. It is on "Oak Street". The bread & bakery selections are good. And we need healthier food options in this town.

However!!!! My first (and last) experience evoked a tad of anger. I ordered a ham/cheese sandwich for which I paid $8.95. Not a bad price, if only there had been ham and cheese on the sandwich! What I got was ONE small deli size cut of ham, and I never did find the cheese. Essentially I paid $8.95 for bread and greens, and the bread was nothing special. I observed another person's ham & cheese sandwich which appeared to receive the same portions, so it was not some kind of an error. I need protein, and had to pay for a real lunch after I left.

I was with a friend and didn't want to deal with this issue that day, since we had limited time. The tables also were full of (satisfied?) customers, and my comments to a manager would have been overheard by all. So I chose to assume that vegans are happy to pay $9 for their bread and vegetables on Oak Street.

I think either this should not be labeled as a ham and cheese sandwich, or the price should be brought down. I gave 2 stars because there may be other reasonably priced delicious items they serve, but I will not return to find out. I don't like getting burned twice!

best bakery this side of town and maybe all of the city with a cool chill vibe and great coffee(organic, fair trade, locally roasted). just great people all around and amazing baked goods(low gluten organic flour). met the owners at the Nola VeggieFest, and have been going in when I can ever since. great discover for me here. discovery it for yourself. do not go off of any negative "foodie/critic wannabe" reviews. it's with the trip across town.
