08/09/2010 4:56 pmDon't waste your time or money regardless whether you are eating or looking for cocktails. My wife and I decided to check out the "new" Marker 34 only to find a name change and little more. To start with the kitchen "lost" our ticket. At least our server was upfront about it, however, no effort was made to move our meal any faster. The crab & spinach dip appetizer we had was bland and luke warm. I had a Captains platter with fried shrimp, scallops and tilapia. Although cooked well enough, again it was bland, bland, bland. Same for the crab cakes my wife had. We would have been better off at Crabby Bill's or JD's. |

06/01/2010 11:41 amI was in a party of 8 that went here on a Sunday evening over Memorial Day weekend and was a little wary when I found the place nearly empty. This however turned out not to be representative of their food. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the Fillet Steak was a great cut and cooked very well. Our server ("Josh" I think) made us very welcome and was attentive, sharing a joke with us and ensuring food and drinks was kept flowing. I highly recommend the place on those two important factors. The interior does appear to be undergoing refurbishment as the walls appeared to be in the process of being filled giving the place a shabby appearance. The furniture is also a little tired but this did not detract from our meal. They need to ditch the lounge singer though. Despite being in a different room we could hear her clearly and she really wasn't that good. We were more than happy when she decided to take a break. They also had a guy playing out on the inviting looking deck which we decided not to eat on due to his volume. I recommend the place on food and service if you can handle the background singing and the less than convincing decor. |

12/31/2009 2:29 amMark turned Brewmasters from a sleepy bar into a vibrant, active and very enjoyable community. Mark knew how to run the place but David wouldn't allow Mark to lower the prices on food and drinks which drove away as huge number of clients. We would have a friendly poker game twice a week and David killed that. So.., Mark apparently took his stuff and left. I would have done the same. |
