Broadway Bar, Sarasota, Florida Restaurant Details

Food:

Six girlfriends and I went out for a night to celebrate a special occasion and made reservations for 6 since we had to be at a show @7:30. Did not get greeted for at least 10 minutes and still did not get our drinks for another ten minutes. So after being there for 30 minutes we were finally "allowed" to put in our order after requesting to do it. When the food came the food runner accidentally spilled sauce all over my friend's coach purse and did not even offer to comp her meal, but rather for her to go get it dry cleaned and bring back the bill. No apologies for the terrible service just excuses that they were terribly busy and "being that we were separate checks" is why everything was taking so long even though we told our server at the beginning of the meal that we were going to be separate checks and we had a reservation. Long story short, we didn't get out of there till 7 30 and they added gratuity that we did not sign for and closed our credit cards out for the amount with gratuity added. Very unfortunate dining experience. Terrible let down.

Bad management food not that great so sad that a once good place has gone down hill won't be going back.

I have been a regular at the broadway bar since (1979ish) their original location "hole in the wall pub". Food is Meh!--average. Price is expensive--my husband ALWAYS hassles me when I want to go there because he says "FOR WHAT??" Sometimes they have a group of teens play jazz and I like that they support the local talent. Service is often slow but I really like the wait staff and it isn't rocket science right? Who cares. All-in-all good enough until I bought a living social deal and they would not honor it! They wouldn't let me AFTER ALL THESE YEARS --I know the owners-- but they still don't know me!-- buy a pizza "to go" OR buy one & take home the part I couldn't eat. John, the owner said it was against the rules of the deal. I explained this was a deal that I BOUGHT! Not a coupon I clipped and I was a repeat customer for YEARS! YOU KNOW WHAT?? I'm done! Wait staff knows me. Too bad for them I won't be back. I tip well and don't expect much! But now I am offended! BYE BROADWAY!! Wish you had something besides nostalgia to keep me

Food:

I have had cheap frozen super marked pizzas in Poland that by far surpassed this place’s round dough things with wired stuff on top!

Service was laid back at best – the manager when told about our unhappiness simply told us to pay up and f--- off.

I had enjoyed the bar and the bar menu a couple of times before – but don’t really care to go back.
