08/17/2015 9:36 pmThe best pizza ever! So mad I found it a week before leaving. The words "Whitestone, sausage, onion". Worth the wait. Hooyah. |

08/04/2015 6:06 pmThis is the pizza place that all pizza places should aspire to be like. A lot of people have said it before but it's absolutely true: there are no frills - but that's what adds to the charm. The guys wear all white shirts and aprons, the radio blares, they yell at each other across the kitchen and they'll go Soup Nazi on you (i.e. - send you to the back of the line) if you don't know what you want by the time you get to the register, are on your cell phone in line or if you ask if they accept card - SO DON'T DO ANY OF THOSE!! Bottom line: the pizza sells itself and it's a damn good product. |

07/09/2015 8:11 pmFirst time visiting San Diego and when i heard the name(I'm a native new yorker from the Bronx) and that they sell pizza by the slice had to go. The first thing that caught my eye was the price, 2.00 dollars for a cheese slice! You don't see those prices back in NY. I ordered the tomatoes and basil and it was perfect. The only reason i don't give this place five stars is cause they do not sell beer. Pizza and beer go hand in hand in my opinion. |

07/06/2015 1:39 pmGreat place to find NY style pizza. Cash only and the customer service can have a NY attitude too (i.e. fast and a little rude in a good way). Parking can be tough at times too, but there's plenty of street parking nearby in Hillcrest. |

09/15/2015 3:06 am"As close to New York as you get in San Diego", this cash-only, "real-deal" Hillcrest pizzeria is famed for its "super-crisp", "tasty" slices and pies served up "cheap" with East Coast "attitude"; the "nondescript" space is certainly "nothing fancy", but "the line out the door attests to its popularity." |
