We visited the Buca on Howe in Sacramento and enjoyed the great hospitality and great food. Jenny our waitress was great. She was very helpful in understanding the menu and selecting vegetarian option.

Great atmosphere, great food, and great service (Niki). They even sang a birthday song for me, even though my birthday was a couple days off.

Not real impressed. The ONLY truly good thing about the experience was our server, Katie. She was friendly, personable and really excellent in meeting our needs. We had a group, one of the dishes we ordered was Fettuccini Alfredo. What came to the table was.....COLD overcooked noodles in a sticky dry milk- or something. Absolutely no flavor and dry. We sent it back and Katie took care of it herself as the kitchen was taking too long. What she brought back was actual Fettuccini Alfredo, plenty of sauce, HOT and had actual flavor. Much better.

So disappointed, every time I went it was always a different experience, the food is decent and given that the place shares a parking lot with my place of business I choose to go there for convenience. Today was the final straw when the b-word for a hostess (Marissa I think her name was) tells me the price to add a meatball is $5.99, when on the lunch menu I'm staring at it clearly says $4.00 and then explains to me that it would be a side (not in my pasta). I looked at her confused, and read exactly what it said on the menu "add a meatball for $4.00..." I'm assuming "add" meant add it to my pasta???? and her response is: "they must have changed the prices.." and shrugs. Smh so distasteful. Won't ever go back.
