Went here for my girlfriends birthday. Got a table right away, had a fast and friendly waiter, ordered 2 cocktails, appetizer and dinner. Everything came as expected and the food was very enjoyable. We had a nice time and will come back again

I got terrible food poisoning. It was the only time I've ever had food poisoning and it was the worst experience of my life. Google 'Buca di Beppo food poisoning'. I don't think this chain is well-managed.

well, where to begin? my girlfriend and I drove from downtown PHX to enjoy some Bucca. we arrive and are greeted with a hostess with a terrible attitude. A foursome that was there before us asked how much longer it would be to which she replied in the most unprofessional way by saying they needed tables bussed. that group ended up leaving without being seated.

they finally seat us but tell us the only table available is the kitchen table. that sounds cool, so we sit down. what they didn't tell you is multiple guests often walk past your table and stare at you as if you are a leper.

we then wait 20 minutes before asking one of the many servers standing in the kitchen who our server is. finally get an order in. 30 minutes later, no food. finally speak to a manager and they had put the order in 5 minutes prior to us speaking with him. all we ordered was a small spaghetti and meatball and a small pizza. well the manager comped us some food and a dessert. that's the only thing keeping this from a 1 star.

ftr, the food was delicious. the service was just pitiful.

Had to ask for balsamic vinegar for the caprese salad made with a tastelessness artificially ripened tomato. The chicken marsala had a sickeningly sweet sauce that didn't resemble authentic chicken marsala in any way. The tiramisu consisted of properly soaked lady fingers topped with what seemed to be a sweetened marscapone goo and crumbled biscotti pieces. Dinner was ridiculously overpriced given the quality. A gentlemen who appeared to be the manager took an interest in our dining experience confirmed that the "Italian" dishes were "Americanized". I ended up throwing away the leftovers taken, which is unusual for someone raised with a "there are children starving in China" mentality. I will not be returning.
