The food was great! I like the throwback to the oldays wiyth a jukebox and those machines that were similar to jukeboxes at every table where you would put money in and it would be play classic hits. Also, you gotta love the arcade! Well, if you like games like that still..

Where should I begin.. The building looks like it should be condemned.. When you walk in you're assaulted by the overwhelming smell of raw fish..it's dirty and run down.. I've been in places where it doesn't look great but the food is awesome and this place has been there for 55 years so we thought we'd give it a try.. Wrong..there must have been a time when it was good but not anymore.. I got the turkey and stuffing dinner.. The stuffing was like wet sand..the potatoes were instant and the gravy was canned..my daughter got a cheeseburger and fries.. Her burger was so thin and overcooked she couldn't chew it..my son had the grilled cheese and fries..some of his fries were raw and some burnt..I'm not even sure how that's possible.. My husband had the chicken fried steak and onion rings..the rings were cold and tasteless..the staff was nice enough but the food was literally inedible..I'm not sure how anyone who has reviewed this place recently gave it a good review.. The bathroom was horrific.. Tiles broken.. Floor was sticky and to top it off there were roaches in the light fixtures on the ceiling.. The few bites of turkey I ate made me sick..do yourself a favor and don't bother.. I'm not sure how they pass with the health department

Looks, acts, smells like 1965. The fish is great. Price is affordable. the service is wonderful. If you get the waiter Johnnie O. then you have it all. I go there every time I am in San Antonio.

This was my 1st time visiting. My friend and I agreed that our waiter John was simply the most amazing waiter we have ever had. We went in for the fish which was delicious and so was the potato soup. The decor isn't all that but my attention definitely wasn't on that with the great meal I was enjoying in front of me. Definitely going back and asking for John when I get there.
