06/25/2015 9:33 pmBeen going here since 1977. Might not go back. Chicken and dumplings served cold. Server microwaved. So much for fresh. Server charged for two drinks I didn't order. Cashier said I had to get server to adjust bill as she couldn't. Waited for server to adjust. She still got ticket wrong. Cashier acted disgusted that she had to correct the check. What a disappointment. |

12/15/2014 4:12 pmThis is some seriously good BBQ. The hushpuppies are to die for, everything I've tried is great and the BBQ is excellent. Service is great, but it is always crowded, it's no secret that this place is amazing. We had them cater our wedding in June because we love the food so much and they did a wonderful job. |

05/22/2014 9:25 amThe line outside the door and the generally high ratings belie the reality of the dining experience at Bullock's. My general impression is that time simply stopped at Bullock's circa 1974. From the photos of semi-celebrities from that era, to the average age of the servers, to the décor and condition of the fixtures, Bullock's seems to have just quit being what it presumably used to be...a place to get great BBQ. I've been twice, and each time it appeared that some nearby old age home had dropped off some group of residents. This makes sense, because you hardly have to chew anything on the menu. The pulled pork had the texture of having been processed in a blender, and the slaw was so finely pulped it was like eating mashed potatoes. Service is spotty at best. I think there must have been some event that froze Bullock's in time, allowing its food, décor, and service to be overtaken and routinely surpassed at any typical airport food stall. Go for the hushpuppies, stay for the life experience of contemplating your future state by observing the ancients who seem to keep the place in business. When your taste buds are shot, maybe you'll love it, too. |
