10/25/2013 12:42 amThis place is phenomenal. I can't say enough. The service is fast, they're super friendly and the food, if you know your way around the menu you're going to have a great time. Here's my advice |

05/19/2013 11:41 pmGood food, but definitely a hole in the wall. Don't let the 1960s linoleum entrance deter you. Dare to be adventurous with the menu; you'll be pleasantly surprised. |

01/06/2013 11:46 pmBurmese food was a delight and just a great find when we were traveling in South East Asia so we made it a point to look and try Burmese food here in the US. We especially wanted to find the Tea Leaf Salad as we simply fell in love with it. The Tea Leaf Salad we had here was ok. Reminiscent enough of the some of the TL Salads we've had in Burma so it was nice. We also tried the mango pork and the tamarind soup. It was a pretty nice meal. The place is unassuming though the food was a bit slow coming. We payed about $30 for three plates without drinks. Portion size was pretty big though so expect leftovers. |

12/05/2012 10:33 pmI'll admit that I wasn't expecting much upon my second visit to Burma restaurant in Chinatown, because the first time I went was in 2007 when I was an intern and I attended a mixer there. I don't remember being totally wowed by the food, but my second time around, 5 years later, I was impressed by the variety and the flavor. I'd describe the cuisine as having facets of Thai, Laotian, Indian mixed into it to create a unique taste of its own. The beef curry we tried wasn't spicy (which may be to cater to a more Western tongue), but still very thick and flavorful. I LOVED the Chicken Sautteed Kabob dish - basically chicken marinated in spices and sauteed with peppers, onions and tomato - and had some spice, but it wasn't overwhelming. The green tea leaf salad is one of their specialties and probably one I would say is a must-order. If you can, go with a group to Burma Restaurant, and try a little of everything. For what seems like a hole-in-the-wall type of place, the flavors are great. |

07/21/2009 5:13 pmThe food didn't seem very good. We ordered the spring ginger salad and the Tamarind fish; neither was very good. The fish (salmon, I think) was dry (overcooked) and bland; the salad was okay but not great. |
