"Moules frites done right" chased with "awesome beers" explain the "crush" at these "friendly" Belgian pubs in Midtown; they're "nothing fancy" and can be "way too noisy" at prime times, but the "price is right", particularly the "endless mussel" special on Sunday and Monday nights.

Very friendly place..small dining area in the back. A bit lively - as in noisy - but fun... You must like mussels here, they are quite good, large portion, several different sauces based on a wine herb broth...Good frites and aioli to go with it. Had the house beer, a seasonal dark ale and both were excellent. Fairly reasonable pricing for the beers and food.
The pate' was excellent as was the salad, with a very tasty house dressing too. If you are near the Marriott or Times Square this is non-touristy and well worth the visit.

They aren't going to confuse anyone by calling themselves an authentic Belgian Beer Bar, but luckily they don't. An anemic selection of 6-8 beers served alongside an uninspiring selection of mussel pots still brings in big crowds just blocks away from Times Square. On a hot NYC day this is a fine place for a cold beer, and on a cold day, its a fine place for a steaming hot pot of mussels. Very friendly wait staff in a cozy atmosphere.

This is not really a family place as it is loud, hot, and stuffy, but the Moules Frites and beer make for an incredible meal. Recommended to anyone who is the kind of person that would go to a restaurant to eat moules frites and drink beer.

food, great beers and great service. This place is a must go!
Please don't listen to the people who get a stella in a belgian bar they obviously don't know what they are talking about...

This is the closest you can get to Belgium. Authentic beers, authentic meals. Don't try the Duvel from the draft though, it's not really what you would call 'a Duvel'.
