01/26/2016 4:06 pmI dined there the other day and was surprised to find that the "special" had climbed 30% in price since I visited a few months ago. I had to make a special request for bread, too. |

07/23/2015 2:19 amDON'T ORDER THE "KOBE BEEF" My wife and I were on our last leg of out vacation and decided on this restaurant to top off our trip. It had great reviews and the menu looked great. My wife had the rack of lamb and escargot and it was great! I ordered the 13oz "kobe beef" NY strip with potatoes au gratin. A $75+ piece of meat by itself (a la cart) Having "kobe beef in several other establishments my expectations were high (and should be at that price). Stake came out prepared to my liking ( medium rare) and I cut into the meat...tough...okay, I thought, it's my first cut, no problem. Second cut, still tough. Hmmm, I thought. I called the waiter over thinking that this strip may have been mistaken for the 14oz NY strip (and so on the menu) and asked him if this was the Kobe?...he looked and said yes sir, it is...not curious as to why I asked he departed, never asking if there was an issue. Am I the only person who thinks this would be a flag? I continued eating the steak driven by hope it would get better and the price I was paying...it didn't get any better and I didn't finish the steak. At least the potatoes were great! The waiter never asked how we liked our meal but he did ask how our desert was! Wierd... |

04/07/2015 1:58 amCacharel is a beautiful restaurant and the food is good, but if you have any sensitivity to MSG I would avoid it. When we ate there the manager was unable to identify anything they used or got from a supplier but my husband was deathly ill for 4 days. We would have returned had they been able to identify the culprit, but can't trust they were thorough enough to eliminate either the duck or escargot that was the source of msg. |
