Classic French cuisine with some "New American twists is "exquisitely presented" at this casually upscale Far North Dallas bistro with an on-site chef-owner; an intimate setting, traditional decor and impeccable service all contribute to the overall delightful experience, which is expensive, but worth it.

The wife and I have made 3 visits to Cadot, and all were quite enjoyable. You better have an open bankbook though and don't expect generous portions of food.
For starters, the wife had escargot and I the duck terrine. The terrine was just fantastic, only wish there'd been more of the pickled cabbage garnish. I have never been a fan of escargot, but I must say those little nuggets of snail flesh drowning in a rich winy sauce were addictive.
The wife had the special of bouillabaisse and I the braised short rib. Hers was quite tasty and so was mine, except for two issues. The rib was dry and tough on one end about a third of the way across. The rest became much more palatable. The silky puree also had a lump of cooked yet unprocessed potato, which I'm sure was not intended.
We shared a soufflé for desert - Grand Marnier, but I was hard pressed to detect any of that liqueur. Also we could have withstood a more substantial dessert, but that was our choice.
Yes we will return to Cadot for special occasions, but maybe with other choices in mind.

Quite the surprise for a strip center restaurant. Everything was delicious! Timing on the food was impeccable even on NYE.

My wife and I have been patrons of Cadot the year it opened. I had read that it had been voted the Best New Restaurant of 2009 in D Magazine. We have taken my brother there when he visits from Boston. My brother is an accomplished chef having learned the trade during his junior year in college at the Sorbonne in Paris. In the utmost compliment he says Cadot is as good as any French/Continental restaurant he's been at. If available, I recommend the Lobster ravioli as an appetizer. The bread is out of this world! Must have the Grand Marnier Souffle for dessert. Our favorite server is Fred.

Really nice French/European food, very nice posh, quiet atmosphere.
IMHO, reviewers complaining about price/value are missing the point.
This is a wonderful place to go for a special lunch, or VERY special ($$$) dinner.

Our server was very courteous and the food was very good and high quality.
If you're not used to European food, you might not like this place. No enormous portions or super-sweet desserts. This is refined and high-quality food.

We had lunch here. The chicken crepes were very good, as was the portobello mushroom ciabatta. The pan-seared ahi tuna salad was very good, although a bit too salty for my tastes. We split the apple tart three ways for dessert and it was very good and understated — not sweetened, but tasty, with a little scoop of ice cream on the side.
The portion size on the turkey crepe was a little on the small side, but I wasn't super hungry.
