Fantastic food, beautiful art, great ambiance, amazing prices - and service that can't be beat, by the mental health clients this establishment is set up to support. This place is only open for lunch and it's very popular, so get there early or come a little late to be sure of a table. |

04/26/2010 9:08 pmAfter you get tired of the typical sandwiches and are ready for something delicious, head on over to Cafe 54 to be amazed. Just writing this review, I'm salivating as I think of their delicious BLT sandwich that comes with a healthy cucumber salad. The menu changes from week to week so you can never get bored here. The staff is attentive too, how great is that?! I can't wait to return! |

02/27/2009 10:10 pmYou just gotta go here. This is an unusual establishment in that is a non-profit that assists those with mental illness to mainstream into society -- in the guise as an outstanding restaurant. (One poster on the wall reads: "They didn't call Abraham Lincoln mentally ill; they called him 'Mr. President') It is run by mental health professions and two or three classically trained chefs. All of this explains both the modest prices and the amazing quality and tastiness. It's not creepy or sterile, but rather bright, cheery, and comfortable. Good enough to visit every other day when I am in town for the gem show. |
