I like the quiet, small, familiar crowd. I can go there for a cheap glass of wine after school and study, read, talk on the phone, or use the wifi. Its an older group of regulars so you can be left alone or socialize, without feeling uncomfortable.

It's convenient and one of the few options for a sit down downtown lunch. But beyond that, whoa, I'm staying clear of this place if possible.

FOOD: Ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, substituting angel hair for the pasta. It was ok. Sauce was a little sour and there wasn't much to it--very watery. The meatballs were terrible. Dry, tough, and tasted like nasty meat. Didn't even taste like beef, veal or any normal meat.

The other dishes I tasted: the Bolognese was the worst. It tasted almost rotten. It was terrible. The canneloni sauce was a little better than the Bolognese and had a dark, almost spicy/sweet flavor to it.

SERVICE: our server was clueless or something. We asked for what dish would she recommend with shrimp and she came back and said "spaghetti and meatballs is good". Um, what? Then when she brought the dishes, she brought a plate that looked like angel hair with bolognese--when they had ordered rigatoni and bolognese. Um, huh? She said, oh I thought you wanted to substitute angel hair. I guess she mixed us up, but really she just had no idea because it wasn't like I got rigatoni. Then the best was the last plate that had spaghetti noodles and bolognese--now this one was a goner. Canneloni and spaghetti noodles look nothing alike. Even on the menu it's called a pasta crepe. Our server was convinced it was right; brought the menu back and said, this is what you ordered right: the pasta crepe "canneloni". Yes, however if you look on the plate it is spaghetti. Oh my goodness, this was like who's on first what's on second and our server wasn't very friendly when she had made the mistakes. That's fine, if you make a mistake, just correct it and apologize and move on. It felt like she was arguing with us, "no, you ordered this"...

It's really dark inside and feels kind of stuffy too.

Great lunch because of a great company, but the actual lunch was horrible.
