06/17/2013 12:44 pmMust have hit them on a bad night, we were the second occupied table there at first, seemed to have only one server. The second bad sign was that it was hot as hades in there, need to turn the air down sooner, the evening sun coming through all those windows was brutal. Two people ordered snapper, I ordered Caribbean jerk spiced pork steak, one ordered a steak. The best thing we had was the appetizer. My pork "steak" was tough and hard to cut, but tasted OK, even though not very "jerk" tasting; the two snapper orders had raw spots in the middle; the beef was the only thing with no complaintse side dishes were good, but one badly needed salt and when I add salt you can be sure it has none... Then we ordered deserts...just suffice it to say that it went downhill from there. Our server was mortified, he had done his job, and done it well, we asked for the manager (who also seems to be the bartender) who when we talked to her said she would go talk to the manager. We never saw either the owner or the chef, finally did get the two dishes removed from our tab as well as all four deserts. I may give them another chance, but it will be a while... |

05/13/2013 3:00 pmWent here for brunch. Made a reservation. They lost it, the manager asked if a man took the reservation. I said yes and she rolled her eyes- I don't need business politics BEFORE I even sit down. Was seated immediately anyway. 20 minutes later drink orders. 30 minutes after that food orders. An hour after that I got up and went to the bar to refill our drinks myself. I waited 3 hours for food! My crepes were delicious, my husbands french toast was just okay. |

03/22/2013 4:25 amThe food is delicious. Very hot and freshly made. The waitress was able to explain the dishes and made excellent suggestions as to what we should get. I especially loved the grit fritters as an appetizer. They were great. Hot and crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. i would reccommend this restuarant to anyone wanting good food. A special treat was meeting the chef. He came out and greeted people. That showed personality and style. |

03/15/2013 7:43 amGreat little family owned authentic french restaurant! The owners are chefs from Paris and so friendly and welcoming. They really take the time to make sure their customers are completely happy and you can tell they're very passionate about what they do. The new drinks are great, they have a great new happy hour with great drink specials. The food is always outstanding and very reasonably priced. Great newer staff, great service. I live way on the other side of Birmingham, and it's a bit of a drive but well worth it every time. They never disappoint. My husband's and my favorite restaurant! Not enough people know about it so I would highly recommend you going and trying it if you've never been, you'll love it and if you have been, continue to keep going back b/c this a a great place owned and run by great people! I give everything there, all around a 10! :) Take my word, my advice to try it out and enjoy! Once you try it, you'll keep coming back for more! |
