It's "like you're at a cafe in Paris" at this "charming", "classic French bistro" in Bayou St. John that impresses patrons with its "rich", "delicious" fare and "nice wine list"; an "enclosed porch (complete with the tree coming through)" helps paint "the perfect setting for a romantic date", making it "highly recommended."

Expected something superior, but was good. A little over priced in my opinion. we witnessed a rodent at the feet of the table next to us. Never offered an apology much less anything else.

went to cafe dega last night and everything was great, the bartender took care of us right away when we were waiting for our table to be open and made the best mint julip for me. we had the cheese board to start and it was a great selection, the french onion was a bit too cheesy but it was still really good. i had the sea bass stuffed with crab and the taste was spot on with a hint of lemon with herbs. my girlfriend had the lamb t bone and it was excellent, perfectly cooked.

The only knowledgeable and friendly patron in the "restaurant" were the caterpillars falling FROM THE CEILING ONTO OUR TABLE.
They were way more attentive than any of the staff and deserved a better tip than the "server" we had.
Very unfortunate. With proper pest control practices and a smile on at least one person's face would make this place enjoyable.
The beets were way too earthy, too. But that might just be overkill.

What a terrible experience. We walk in, and for a minute and a half the staff there, standing right in front of us does not even acknowledge us. We had a reservation, but it kept getting worse from there. Then the waitress keeps avoiding our table to go to the tables surrounding ours, stopping and looking at us directly and then walking away. Then my wife orders steak medium well and I order mine rare. Hers is rare when it comes, mine was so raw that the serrated knife could not cut through the fat. This whole time, we're not complaining or making our dissatisfaction known. Then we ask for the check and it took over 20 minutes to get it. I rarely write reviews but this was one of the most uncomfortable meals (not to mention the food) that I have ever had.
