really disappointed:
-We had to ask to be served and seated
-We had to ask to get water refilled
-No salt and pepper on the table
-the waiteress offer us to add vegetables but without mentionning that it was 3$ per ingredient
-The chef messed up the pasta, came outside and said they ll do it again
-We waited for 30 min to get pasta and paid 32$ without tips

As a meat-eater guest of a vegetarian, I enjoyed the food at Cafe Green. The Thai pasta with bulgogi and the Mandoo dumplings were very good. Mac & cheese and its side of kale were good. Chocolate 'cheesecake' with a date crust was also good and/but you can taste the coconut milk in the dish. Wines were good, as was the ginger mint cocktail. Our waiter was knowledgeable and engaging. Making a reservation on urbanspoon was key! The meal was long due to slowness of service... but not slow servers. The issue is logistical. The wait staff have to run up & down a flight of stairs for everything. The wine list isn't huge so a suggestion for Cafe Green is to keep bottles of wine upstairs to avoid the long delays of getting them from the very busy bar staff downstairs.

A Most Excellent Meal attended to by friendly well-informed staff who care that their guests have a superb experience, and they deliver! Comfortable locale, wonderful ambiance, delicious vegan and organic food (much of it local and all of it fresh), and a sensational vibe through and through. Indebted to the friends who took me there first and will return again and again to try everything on the menu - delicious and delightful!

As a recent vegan, I had no idea how spoilt I was by thus restaurant! The food is uniformly excellent, tasty and I've yet to find anything in LA that comes close in terms if friendly service and flavorful dishes. The drinks mixed by Lenore behind the bar were also quite delicious! Highly recommended!
