Two words: Chicken Sumac.

Holy cow, I have no idea what they put on that, but it is unbelievably delicious. You'll want a knife--or eat with your hands, whatever--but it is not to be believed. To my slight embarassment this is the only dish I have ever eaten here (other than appetizers and desserts).

Friday and Saturday nights see dancing girls from the local Jodette Academy, and they are lovely, talented and quite often precious. Something to consider when hosting your conservative relatives from Oklahoma...pro or con, your call!

For dessert, it's Aish Essaraya--"Rich Man's Bread," an (almost) custard-like chilled confection of cream, pistachios and rosewater. Like nothing else you've ever had, I can nearly promise. They often have the Moroccan style baklava as well--delicious and messy!

Dinner and a soft drink can be hand for less than $20pp, more with beer or other features like desserts.

A hidden gem on borderlands of East Sacramento--do try them out!

The food was good. The place looks good and the staff was nice. I got the $5 lunch special and a soda. If you do the same get it to go, not enough food or service to justify a tip, if it was a larger meal and I sat around longer maybe with family or friends I wouldn't mind. Great place over all. Lots of vegetarian options.
