My husband and I were originally at Opus Restaurant in OKC but they refused to honor our Living Social coupon. So we left and went to Cafe Nova. Our meal was excellent, the ambience was great and the server was very attentive and exceptionally nice. We highly recommend this Cafe Nova.

Best brunch in OKC -- hands down, far and away.

Service can be spotty during busy hours, but the food never fails to please at brunch.

I purchased my Groupon for Café Nova June 21st 2010 and I decided to use it for my boyfriend and my 7 year anniversary which was yesterday May 25, 2011 I so very excited to try this restaurant. I looked up the reviews online and researched their web site to make sure it was an anniversary dinner type of restaurant. I even set up a 8:30pm reservation. When I called to set up the reservation I asked a few questions about the place like is this a romantic setting? And asked about why they stay open until 2am? Do they turn the restaurant in to a dance club and if so what time? I was told the food was awesome and that they would get us a nice table for us. Well upon arriving to our 8:30 reservation my boyfriend and I came in and just stood at the hostess stand waiting on someone to help us for about five minutes while a few waitresses and bartender just stared at us. When someone finally decided to help us the employee greeted us and I told him that I had a 8:30 reservation he flip through his book and told me that no reservation was taken for 8:30pm and asked us if we wanted to sit at the bar. (At the time the Thunder game was on so the atmosphere was loud and everyone was crowded around the TV’s which was at the bar.) I insisted on a table so the employee looked around and found the last table near the curtain. Once at the table my boyfriend couldn’t sit in front of me because all the chairs were stolen from our table to crowd around the TV’s so he sat next to me on the leather bench/couch that had holes and rips in it. The food we ordered was 22 bucks a plate and it was nothing special at all. At one point the waiter brought some thing over to the table and walked off. I assume it was a sample of chicken so I pick it up to eat it and my boyfriend slaps it out of my hand shouting “ You’re allergic to salmon!” I had no idea what it was because the waiter didn’t announce what it was when he came and dropped it off he just leaned an whispered it to my boyfriend. Our entrée was bland. I couldn’t wait to leave. Needless to say I left no tip. When I called to set up the reservation I was under the impression that this was a romantic place to go for fine dining but it was more like Buffalo Wild Wings on game day. I was extremely disappointed with our anniversary dinner and will not be returning to Café Nova.

While visiting for the holidays from Colorado, my family and I came into Café Nova for dinner and drinks on December 28th. The food was very good and the service was adequate. Unfortunately the experience has since soured.

I received my credit card bill from that time period and noticed that my card had been charged three times for the bill amount. I soon called and spoke with a manager who said he would look into it and get back to me. Two days went by and I had to call again. At which point I was told that this had happened to a few other people and they were working on a solution. A few more days go by with no response so I call again and I am told that the problem is that their computer system charged me three times but they did not get the money three times and they were still waiting to hear from their computer system guy. Two more days go by and I call again on 1/17/08 and the manager tells me that there is nothing that he can do and it is up to me to dispute the charge with my bank. Basically, “it’s not my problem, you deal with it.” I voiced my displeasure and he half-heartedly offers to by me dinner if I come in (“Come in and ask for me and I will remember your name”).

I live in Colorado and after the horrible customer service that I have since received, why would I want to come back? Ultimately, it is the restaurant’s fault that my card was charged 3 times and they should attempt to reconcile the problem. Why do I as the patron have to pay because their computer had a problem? Why not simply send me a check for the $300 and a $100 gift certificate? I worked in the restaurant business for about ten years and now work in sales/customer service and I feel that I am very forgiving and that I have a good feel of what could have/should have been done in this situation. I hate to complain but I have given several chances to the management to reconcile. Instead I am filling out charge dispute paper work with a very bad opinion of Café Nova.
