Had a fantastic time; service was great! The food was delicious, and arrived quickly. I will definitely be going there again the next time I'm in Pittsburgh.

Also, if you check in there on Instagram they'll like your photo. I thought that was pretty cool.

Excellent food and service as well, highly recommended. I had a very positive experience and was more than pleased with my meal. Heard rave reviews about meat & potatoes from several friends, so I thought to give it a try this trip to Pgh. I came as a walk in and didn't have reservations (it was a tuesday night) so I was offered to order at the bar, full menu. I had bone marrow, a good portion served and with the toppings it was excellent. Pot roast was the best I've had in my life. I believe it was a chuckroast with carrots, other vegetables and whipped potatoes with a very savory sauce - I finished every last bite (which is rare, usually taking home a doggie bag.) I have no idea what was in it, but the flavoring was amazingly tasty. The pot roast was tender and no difficulty eating. I finished my meal with the chocolat pot au creme, a mousse like pudding, which personally I thought was a nice finish after a bit of a heavy meal.

I will be back, to try the mushroom risotto, the pork chop and meat & potatoes for two - heard rave reviews about the latter.

Music was a little too loud for me, my eggs Benedict came out cold with like half a pound of turkey or chicken on it. I guess it would have been different if I really liked turkey. The coffee was good. It's a pretentious hipster joint.

[Warning: visitor from Florida for short vacation] With canning jars at the entrance, the flickering of ‘chandeliers’, as well as dark furnishings—Meat & Potatoes delivers a POSHY YET RUSTIC VIBE that still fits well with this area of the ‘Burgh. The OUTSIDE SEATING is also a great place to people watch yet still tucked under the building’s roof. Besides combining flavors I often don’t see elsewhere (yet make sense) the FOOD TASTES GREAT! Examples: Their Brisket Mac & Cheese was an explosion of comfort food but kicked up with hints of Horseradish and Potato Chips. And their Ceasar Salad—loaded with Cheese but enhanced with a sunny Egg on top.
