06/24/2016 3:45 pmFor a healthy dose of quick and delicious Caribbean fare, these funky cafes never disappoint, thanks to fork-tender chicken, plentiful salads and ample dishes suited to vegetarians; though a bit sparse and noisy, the counter-serve digs offer some island flair, and tabs are quite a bargain. |

03/22/2016 9:57 pmAlways a good option. The food is not so unique to brag home about, but it is very light and guilt free. The food is always cooked properly, it's just not as much flavor as I would like. But I go here with one friend everytime because it's one is their favorite |

03/21/2016 4:37 pmOne of the best restaurants in Nashville. The veggie melt was great but the vinaigrette they use? IS THE STUFF OF LEGEND. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT IT IS. GOD BLESS THIS RESTAURANT |

03/21/2016 4:36 pmThe best of the Calypso franchise I think. Being a vegetarian there're few options for restaurants where I don't have to hunt through a several-page menu to locate something, and Calypso is one of these options. |

02/26/2016 9:21 pmCalypso Cafe has always been a favorite place for me to eat, mainly because I love unique foods. They have a very tasty menu and their LUCAYAN Chicken SALAD is awesome! This a very casual place and all the tables are pretty close together so don't expect a 5 star dining experience. The FOOD is very good! |

01/01/2016 9:10 amNot at all what I expected. I got the impression that everything they served came processed and all they had to do was warm it up. The chips served with the dip were poorer than average. My wife's veggie burger was basically a hockey puck; not much better than the lowest priced veggie burger one might find in the frozen food section. I expected the slaw that came with my meal to have some Caribbean flair (some fresh herbs like cilantro, etc.) but instead I got something that wasn't much different than what one might find pre-packaged in the grocery store deli. On the positive side, the chicken was fall-off-the-bone. I don't know if it was just a bad night for the restaurant or what. I may go back by myself to give it another chance but I won't take my wife back there unless my experience is better. I am from the Caribbean and know Caribbean flavors so maybe my expectations are too high. |
