The staff is very compassionate and friendly. The food always exceeds my expectations.

I've been to many steak houses all across the USA & Canada. And I'm not talking about chain steak houses like Ruth's Chris. I'm talking more along the likes of Smith & Wollensky in Chicago, or St. Elmo Steakhouse in Indianapolis or that of Carnevino in Las Vegas.

I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted a steak that rivals those above. (St Elmo's is still my favorite) I'm very partial to rib eye, but was in the mood for some seafood.

We were promptly seated at a small table, with nice comfy wide chairs. The atmosphere was nice, but it was a little loud, but that could just be the table of 6 people with the 5 bottles on wine on it. :P I was comfortable.

We decided on the anti-pasta for our appetizer, which should be marked for parties of 4+. I didn't want to stop eating it. But I knew what else I ordered and forced myself to stop.

She ordered Grilled Salmon with steamed asparagus, I decided to feed both my craving for seafood and my carnivorous need to steak. I chose the 20oz bone in Rib Eye "Cowboy" steak, with Oscar topping (hollandaise sauce, with carmelized onions and Lobster meat) with saute spinich. Both the vegetables was more than enough for 3 people.

My 1st bite of the steak didn't have any part of the Oscar, and wow did it get my attention. The knife dropped right thru the meat as it was very tender. 2nd bite was mixed with lobster meat and sauce and I'm still drolling over it now 24hrs later. I slowly at each bite as it was like slow dancing with that special someone you finally got the nerve to ask to dance.

The service was very good, prompt, and not over zealous.

I am not a food critic, nor a writer (as you can tell) I just felt compelled to let some others know of this place (that replaced DUX in the Peabody Hotel) and of this awesome steak! It was far better than any Ruth's Chris' (or Flemings or Folks Folly here in the Memphis area) and on par with those I mention above for sure.

I cannot wait to go back! Is tomorrow too soon?

Capriccio Grill is a beautiful restaurant. The atmosphere is very quiet and romantic with dim lighting. Great for a special date night. My awesome boyfriend took me here for my birthday. :) The food is a la cart. Each item is an individual charge. It's very upscale and has a very upscale price. He ordered the grilled salmon and I ordered a seafood pasta with clams, shrimp, mussels and scallops. The presentation looked amazing but I didn't realize that it was cooked with capers and olives. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of capers or olives. The dish was very salty. So, I ate the boyfriend's fish instead. But unfortunately it was overcooked as well. It's not hard to over cook a paper thin piece of fish. I was not impressed with the portion size. Certainly did not get what (HE) paid for.
