Well....Its Caribbean food. I have a feeling it's only rated as high as it is because there is zero competition in OKC. It's ok. The curry is a little watered down and when I went they didn't have any patties. In a pinch this will do.

I love this place and the people are very friendly. The food is great and they also give good advice LOL. One lady keeps telling me to get off the soda and I know she is so right. I am going to start trying the freshly squeezed drinks they make daily. The pound cake is to die for.

The best West Indian restaurant
in OKC. I dare anyone to find better Caribbean food here.

Excellent food, cooked to perfection. The owner is from the Caribbean and has many specialty meals like goat, lamb, ox-tail, chicken curry, but she also many offering for those that might not be adventurous eaters. Jerked chicken, beef, red snapper, talipia, catfish. Meals come with 2 sides including spinach rice, rice w/ beans, peas, cabbage, sweep potatoes and macaroni and cheese to die for. If you like fish, you will love hers always perfect. The place is small, so you might come early, but the cafeteria style service gets you your food fast. I forgot to say, the prices are small and the portions are big. I had generous portions of red snapper. sweet potato and cabbage for less than $9. A wonderful place to eat.

I found this restaurant on my last trip to Oklahoma, Sept 2013.
The family that owns the restaurant are very personable and friendly. They, like me, are from the caribbean and spent a number of years in Brooklyn, NY. Ms. Sharon was as interested in my story as I was in hers.
The decor of the restaurant is really nice and clean. I loved the bathroom. Caribbean folks will know what I mean; we particular about bathrooms!
I save the best for last... the food. The food was great. We bought some food on Saturday and returned on Sunday afternoon, to buy some more food. So I sampled the oxtail, the jerk chicken, curry chicken and the curry goat. They were all delicious. My favourite was the rice and peas. This family is from Trinidad and I'm from Jamaica but who cares! Their rice and peas was the rice and peas I've eaten and loved my entire life. On Saturday we took the food to go, but on Sunday we dined in and it was still great food. We cleaned our plates!!!
The best thing of all is that the meats were Halal. As a muslim, it's always a + to have halal options. No pork in sight!!! This restaurant is frequented by many local Muslims in the area. My hubby met another Muslim gentleman in the store who told us Carican Flavors catered their last Eid meal. A definite recommendation.
