I WILL NOT SET FOOT IN THIS STORE EVER AGAIN. BARB& MIKE JUST COULD CARE LESS ABOUT ANYONE EXCEPT THEIR "REGULAR" CUSTOMERS. I HAVE GONE TO THEIR STORE SINCE IT WAS FEW DOORS DOWN IN THE SAME PLAZA AND THEY USED TO SELL CANDY AND BASEBALL CARDS FOR THE KIDS. THEY GOT RID OF ALL THAT A LONG TIME AGO AND NOW ONLY CARE ABOUT THE ALCHOHOL. THEY ARE VERY RUDE AND TREAT YOU AS IF YOU ARE BOTHERING THEM AT ALL TIMES. EVIDENTLY THEY FEEL THEIR TIME IS TOO IMPORTANT TO BOTHER BEING NIVE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. THEY COULD CARE LESS IF YOU BUY FROM THEM OR BUY ELSEWHERE. ITS A WONDER THEY ARE STILL IN BUSINESS. MULTIPLE TRIES TO GIVE THEM A CHANCE, THEY JUST DON'T CARE. STAY AWAY!

I like to shop at local small businesses mostly because what you typically get is a friendly personal experience that is often lacking at larger chain stores. This is not the case at Cedar Green Wine however. I am only posting this review after 3 bad experiences there because I believe everyone can have the occasional bad day. The owner can't be bothered to make eye contact, and if he does bother to speak to you it will most likely be to make a condescending or rude comment. I was made to feel like I was putting him out in order to take my money, and from now on I will shop elsewhere.

Last night I had an awful experience at Cedar Green Wine & Cheese.
First of all, what I like about independent wine stores is the trust they convey. This was not the case for me at Cedar Green Wine & Cheese.
I arrived around 8:45pm and the shop keeper named Barbara was extremely rude and trying to rush me saying that the store is closing in 10 minutes. I promised her that it will take me less time to decide. When I brought my wine to the register, (Burgess Cabernet Sauvignon) I was embarrassed that I mistook the faintly printed and faded price tag of $34.99 for $17.99
I then asked her if she could help me find a good Cabernet preferably from Napa that could stand up to the one I mistook for around $15-$18. She very quickly looked than sharply said No! Then I asked how about a Petite Sirah? She condescendly laughed and said "not from Napa" then grabbed a bottle off the next shelve and quickly walked away from me while what look like she was hiding something. She walked towards the register saying," this is a good deal its a $30.00 bottle of wine for $15.00. (Domaine Tournon Shiraz Limestone Coast 2004.)" When she grabbed the bottle she tore-off a store description card, you know the kind they write up in magic maker with the wine characteristics showing the original price and the mark down price? I asked her what the alcohol content is and with a quick second look she rudely replied, "I don't know.., trust me you're getting a good deal $15 for a $30 bottle." I felt intimidated, rushed and uneasy. My inner instinct told me to just politely leave with a thank you but her pushy attitude won. (a little perturbed I asked her what her name was, thinking about calling and complaining) When I got home and opened the bottle I found the smell of dirty rags and the taste of something out of an old garden hose.
What also upset me is when I checked the store website, the wine was listed at $19.99 discounted to $13.99

I have mixed feelings about Cedar Green. They have a good selection of beers (don't know anything about wine but there is a huge selection of that). However, a few of the bartenders are very rude and condescending. One of them called out my friend who forgot to tip him for the one $6 draft he drank, even though he bought over $20 worth of beer! This same bartender has always had a negative attitude and a nasty personality. I may continue buying from there but I certainly won't hang around long.
